What is VSV?

We provide Suzuki group classes for all levels and an advanced Chamber Music Program. For many years, we hosted an annual Fall Suzuki Workshop, collaborating with the Upper Valley Music Center and inviting teachers and students from all around New England and beyond. 

We love to perform and give quite a few concerts each year including May & December Group & Chamber Concerts, Spooky Suzuki (in costume for Halloween), January Solo Concerts and a Retirement Home tour for Valentine’s Day.

We like to share what we do with the community. In recent years, we have played at many Retirement Homes and at local Farmer’s Markets. We play every Summer for the Lake Monsters Baseball games in Burlington. We have been heard on Church Street, at “Summervale” at the Intervale in Burlington, in the Burlington Square Mall and for four years, we played with the Itzhak Perlman Chamber Music Program at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe. In 2013, we had a master class, playing and working with the outstanding and inspiring Far Cry Chamber Orchestra and in 2015 we performed for and were coached by the Shanghai String Quartet. In 2018 and 2019 we performed at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington.

In 2020, we weathered the pandemic with Zoom Spooky Suzuki and a wonderful Holiday Sing-along on zoom. And then in January of 2021, we did four solo concert performances on zoom and were able to invite friends and family from all over the globe.  

Four of our teachers were members of the Burlington Chamber Orchestra. Two of our teachers grew up as VSV students! Many of our students are or will be members of the Vermont Youth Orchestra.
