is excited to host Book 6 Violin Teacher Training
& Student Workshop with Mr. Mark Mutter from Michigan!
Thursday October 10 through Sunday October 13
Opportunities for Teachers:
· FULL Participation: includes 15 hours of Teacher Class time,
8 hours of Student Observation + written work as assigned in order to meet SAA standards to Register Book 6 upon completion of the course. Additional SAA standards include being a member of the SAA, passing the SAA audition, completing Every Child Can and Suzuki Bks 1,2,3.
Teacher Class time will include discussion of each piece in Suzuki Book 6 as well as Additional Materials (scales, etudes, other repertoire) to cover with a book 6 level student. Ideas will be shared with each other and opportunities will be given to be coached as a teacher by Mark Mutter.
The fee for full participation is $500, unless we have more than 5 full participants, in which case the fee can be lowered for all of us!
Teacher Class Times:
Thurs Oct. 10 2-5; Fri Oct. 11 9-12 & 1-3; Sat Oct 12 9-12, Sun Oct 13 9-12 & 1-2
Lesson Observation Times:
Thurs Oct. 10 6-8; Fri Oct. 11 3:30-5:30; Sat Oct 12 1-4
· Participation as an AUDITOR: includes 15 hours of Teacher Time, as much student observation as possible and no written work, so not eligible for SAA Registration. You are not required to meet SAA standards above, but you must be an SAA member.
The fee for Auditors is also $500
(unless we have more than 5 full participants).
· Participation as an OBSERVER: you are welcome to any teacher class hour or to observe any student lessons, but you are not invited to participate verbally in the class discussions!
Observer fees are $25 per hour.
Opportunities for Students:
· 30 minute private lesson for a student in book 6 and up, preferably playing a piece from Suzuki Book 6 $50
· 20 minute mini-private lesson with 3 students in one hour at a book 2 to 4 level, all observing the entire hour $40 per student
· a 1 hour group class taught by Mr. Mutter & Teacher Class Participants being coached by Mr. Mutter!
Saturday October 12 2:00 for students in Book 1&2 $15 per student
· a 1 hour group class taught by Mr. Mutter and Teacher Class Participants being coached by Mr Mutter!
Saturday October 12 3:00 for students in Bk 3-5 $15 per student
All students and parents are also welcome to quietly observe any of these student workshop hours, donations gratefully accepted:

VSV Annual Spring Concert will be Monday May 20th 4:30 to 6 at the Schoolhouse, 8 Catkin Drive, South Burlington, followed by a pizza/salad pot-luck party!
